I have been photographing for over 25 years and my main passions are the natural world, its landscape and fauna and flora. I also enjoy many other branches of photography from sports to environmental portrait. In recent years travel has been taking up a major part of my photography and with my travel company Photoventures (www.photoventures.net) I have had the opportunity to explore many parts of the United States and other locations World wide. Since 1990 I have taken of ¼ million images.
I have been able to bring the results of my photography to people throughout Great Britain and overseas with my comprehensive array of lectures. In the past 10 years I have delivered over 1,000 lectures nation wide.
In addition to this I have been privileged to judge many competitions including most international and National Exhibitions held in Great Britain.
In 1994 I was awarded an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society in the Pictorial Division with a panel of colour transparencies, in 1985 I was awarded my second Associate in the Pictorial Division with a panel of colour prints.
In 1986 I achieved the Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society in the Applied Division with a panel of colour prints. In 2000 I was awarded a second Fellowship in the Pictorial Division with a panel of colour prints.
In 1996 received the Award for Photographic Merit from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain for services to photography.
In 1996 I was only the second person to be awarded the Associate of the British Photographic Exhibitions having had over 400 acceptances. In 1998 I was the first person to be made a Fellow of the British Photographic Exhibitions having achieved over 550 acceptances and 139 awards. I held the only fellowship until the second was awarded in 2001.
I have been a prolific exhibitor for over 20 years both nationally and internationally and have achieved over 3,000 acceptance in Great Britain and abroad. In the process have achieved over 750 awards, which include a many PSA and FIAP and PAGB medals.
In 1999 I was elected to become a member of the London Salon of Pictorial Photography,
I have served on the Royal Photographic Society Distinctions assessment panel for a number of years, The Licentiate Panel since 1997 and the Applied Panel since 1998. In 2001 I became chair of the Travel Panel.
My photographs have been successful in a number of prestigious competitions as well as being extensively published. I won the best slide in the Condor International Bird Competition in 1987. With Arctic Tern in flight (This image can be found in the portfolio. I had two of my images accepted for the first Canon Camera Calendar in 1990 winning the winter section. I have had many acceptances for the Photography Year Books, with my image "Sunflower" on the front cover of the 1990 edition. A number of my images were used to illustrate Ron Spillmans "The Complete Photographer" - Fountain Press.
In 2000 I was awarded a 'Judges Medal'
at the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain National Colour Slide Championship
with "White Sands Evening". In 2001 I won the Best Slide in
the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain National Colour Slide Championship
with "Winter Tree, Hayden Valley"
